1° Italian National Meet-Up

Italian bookcrossers (bookcorsari) had their first national convention on last April 25 & 26 in Roma.

... I was there and now I'm going to tell you a bit about it.

I suggest you to see the extended chronicle, it's in italian (i'm not able to write it in english) but there are many pics...
Follow those links; my Italian chronicles (with Photopages) and Pa's Photoalbum, and another set of pics (by Akela) on meetup.com.
In this text a little running book () brings you to a pic. :-)

Ok, it's time to begin...

It was wonderful and amazing and we enjoied a lot, this is the first statement I had to write!

People (people? bookcrossers!) came at Roma from 9 other cities (Torino, Milano, Bergamo, Bologna, Forlė, Firenze, Livorno, Teramo, Napoli ) and other towns in the neighboroud... Pomezia & Ostia.

There were two events: a dinner on April 25 and a picnic on April 26.
It was a big and well done job for the organizing group, they has been great!

The dinner (first step) was in a very nice little restaurant in medioriental-style, ( the "bararabesque"), it was a buffet dinner... good luck!

We fullfill the restaurant with about 35/40 bookcorsari and there were no room for sitting on the tables.

We met ourselves (most for the first time), introduced each others, coupled faces and screenames, (drank & ate), released the first books and talked talked talked...

We also circulated the "Italian Bookcrossers Diary #6" (see me presenting it ).

It was deep night when we begun to leave and come back "home" (many of us was lodged by roman BXer in their homes).

On Saturday we met in Villa Ada (a large park in Roma) at noon.

We took place on the meadow and reserved a bench as "release zone" () ...many book, as you can see, the sun was shining and a soft wind was blowing... a very nice day, many food () and the most important things... a lot of friends!

Also a tv troupe was there and got some interviewes () for the TV news.

A full immertion in the sun and we spent the whole day using our mouths... to eat, to talk (a lot of chats), to sing... ()

It really was a wondeful day, so many people (about 60) from so many places and last but not least so many books!!!

We all are happy to have been there and we all are waiting for the new one next year..
